Want to want to eat healthy?

Recently a few clients have requested help with eating more choicefully, especially around sugar. I realize that I know quite a lot about this from experience. A decade ago I was eating cheeseburgers, pastries and drinking beer for breakfast, hard out. Eventually I got really sick. It's taken me a long time to restore my health, and work out how live healthfully on a daily basis in a relaxed, light, easy way. Along the way, I've tried pretty much every crazy diet out there, looking for something that truly works.

What I discovered works for me best is staying connected with that joyful, light, natural, healthy good feeling inside me as much as possible, and letting that guide me. It was hard at first, coz there were lots of other voices drowning out the quieter voice of that natural, healthy feeling. Like habits around eating, needs for comfort, physical cravings, all that. But after a while the noise died down and I just got to hear myself clearer and clearer, started to take better and better care of myself, and feel really good mosta the time.

I support my clients to connect into their own good, healthy, joyful feelings and life energy, so that they can more and more easily tune into it, hear it and let it guide them as they navigate the world, and make choices, including food choices.  Once I saw a client I worked with walking down the street a month after our session, and I didn't even recognize her, that's how much healthier she appeared! Sometimes the work happens fast, but committing to six sessions is great because it gives us time to go deep if we want to, and really untangle things. Food can be complicated, right?

Sweet Dreams Workshop lunchtime today in Kihei

Very excited about our Sweet Dreams Sleep workshop today! Wanting to give folks lots of different tools for getting great natural sleep. There'll be practical tips and tricks, a low down on supplements, some herbal sleep tea (that REALLY works), aromatherapy (that goes in your goodie bag too), and some snooze-it-up-big-time hypnotherapy guided imagery (that of course you get to have and listen to forever).

I made new guided imagery especially for the Workshop, and put some cozy music underneath it from UK hypnotherapy music guru, Silencio. It has the sound of rain gently falling (one of the best ways to go to sleep ever, I reckon) along with some binaural delta beats for dropping you even deeper into healing rest. Have been testing it out on myself this week and sleeping sooooo deeply.

Easing Anxiety

Big Quiet Smile

In my first few months working as a hypnotherapist here on Maui I've been heartened and amazed to see the power of hypnotherapy.  Most of the time a client comes out of their session with a big, quiet smile on their face–the kind of smile that says, “I just found the best thing ever, and even better–it comes from me,  just the way I most want it, and is mine forever.”

This is my personal experience of hypnotherapy too–finding the answers inside myself, answers that are so truthful and good and make so much sense to me, that I smile really big for a long time. It's the kind of experience that is cheapened by putting it into words, so I will stop trying. Only to say, that I see this look on my clients faces and I feel heartfelt gladness.

I notice that when we work with our deepest wisdom in this way–exploring beneath and beyond our conscious mind–we can make changes that translate into action that comes so easily and naturally in our daily lives. Suddenly good things happen without even trying, we can just trust our subconscious, and what we want just flows. It's really something.
